Pros and cons of Denon Audio app for iPhone and iPad

Denon Audio app good for

I really like this app, especially the EQ. 5 Stars easily, 6 if they were available. Just wondering . . . . Is there an update in the works for iOS 11? App info in iOS 10 says it wont work with newer firmware. What Sayest Thou Denon?
Ive tried over 15 different equalizer apps; this one is my favorite by miles. I get a warm, rich, detailed sound quality that I dont get with any other app, no matter how I set the levels. Ive had the Denon EQ since I got my first iPhone in 2010. I simply cannot live without it. I recently got a pop-up message stating the app will not be compatible with iOS11... If that is true, then I hereby beg Denon to please, please, please update the app before the new iOS comes out. Thanks.
I have the Sony MDR1000X headphones, Sonys app wont find them so I have no idea how that app works, so, I tried the Denon app, wow, that EQ! Not just presets... Wow, I can adjust treble AND bass and everything in between! Plays iTunes library, radio stations both local and not so local. Cant find anything lacking at all with this app. Well worth the $1.99 for full version, (to access that beautiful EQ). Sadly, it looks like Denon is abandoning this app, about 3 years now with no updates.
I would give it 5 but, the inability to store EQ settings is a hamper to that. The EQ feature is great for tuning your car stereo or whatever. I also do not like that it erases the EQ if u happen to move off manual to other selections. Manual EQ select after is flat for example. Being able to disable the EQ easily is a plus as well as i have one car with an EQ set properly. Because I like tunein radio sources and this works with it that is a positive. Also has some usability issues for low signal strength conditions. Kept me from buying a new stereo for one car for now tho as the EQ function cleaned up the sound once optimized by ear.

I have been a fan of Denon for many years and this app is great for anyone who wants to enhance their musical experience. The menu system is very straightforward. I purchased the IAP and although I havent used the pro features yet like the one-3rd octave and the 10 band EQ I have been using Denons signature EQ setting. That alone is worth the price of the IAP IMO. I also turned off the limiter and raised the attenuation to normal or 0.0db and there is no distortion. Add in the radio from countries around the world that include death/black metal which I like as well as other types of music and I think this app is a pretty sweet deal. My only complaint would be that it doesnt support hi-res audio. Another well known company has an app in the App Store that has hi-res audio so it can be done. I really hope Denon considers making an update to include hi-res audio. Otherwise great job Denon.

Some bad moments

Just got the new iPhone 7plus today. Downloaded this app. It worked well. So I decided to purchased the in app eq. When the eq is on it makes a horrible chatter clicking noise no matter what song Im playing. However, it does not do this on radio portion. Only when playing songs I have on the iPhone 7plus playlist in the unit. It does not do this on my iPad with the same os, or my I touch. Just the new iPhone 7plus. I tried everything! Turned off features in phone and even rebooted, deleted, reloaded. An obvious glitch. This software needs to be updated! Hasnt been updated since 2014. Again, its only when the eq is enabled on the new iPhone 7plus. Horrible chatter clicking noise. How can this be fixed? How do I get money back?
Using iPhone 7 plus. Just bought this app today but now I see it hasnt been updated in a very long time. The app produces a loud clicking static sound that none of my other music playing apps creates. Avoid this app and look for something else.
Terrible app. Deceptive description, makes you believe you are getting an equalizer. No, you pay extra for that, then, every time you open the app, you must restore that purchase, via signing in to iTunes and all that... I so wish I could get my money back
Weak app. btw be aware, the app asks you to purchase it if youd like to use manual equalizer.
Save your money and buy an app that works. Doesnt see most of the music on my device.
This is still the best music app if you want to put a bunch of songs (or, especially, playlists) into a playback queue and let it go. The stock music apps Up Next feature is useless in this regard, as it will only insert selected tracks or playlists after the current song. So the Denon app is indispensable if you manage your music the way I do. Updates needed: - Support newer devices with larger screens - Support the iTunes feature that allows you to associate artwork with a playlist - An iPad-friendly app would be nice as well, instead of having a blown-up iPhone app on the larger screen
